7. Supporting global business

Industrialisation, globalisation and outsourcing have all impacted the way the world does business. Only in recent times however has its economic, social, and political importance become clearer. International trade is essential to developed countries. Without it, they would be limited to the goods and services offered only in their country. The concept of globalisation is driven primarily by a combination of economic, technological, socio-cultural and political factors.

Being part of an international network through membership of an industry body, gives Chartered Accountants the opportunity to have contact with their overseas counterparts.

The Chartered Accountant designation is a portable career choice and the Institute has established agreements with similar overseas organisations to facilitate working internationally.Consistent standards in Australia and overseas helps global business. This is achieved through collaboration among institutes in the GAA. The GAA aims to promote quality professional services, support its global membership and share information on international accounting issues.
